You repeat the process until you’ve finalized your entire video and then add music. You don’t have to use an entire clip and can adjust the clip length by using the sliders in the time bar. Once you’re done editing a specific section, you place a marker which separates that specific edit from the rest of the clip. Rockstar Editor also lets you play with the speed of the clip to add slow motion or speed up the action. In the “Audio” section, you can adjust the levels of the sound effects, music, or dialog. The variety of filters is impressive but customizing the levels can take some time. Under “Effects” you can add different filters and adjust the intensity, contrast, saturation, and brightness. It’s really up to you as the editor on what style you’re going for. If you’re worried about cuts between scenes, you can set a “Blend” option to make cuts more seamless. You can’t move the camera anywhere you want though you are limited to a small area but it was never a problem to get a good angle. I created a couple of short videos using the “Free Camera.” This lets you move the camera around the area. You can even add camera shakes to add more impact. You’ll spend a lot of time in the camera menu to change the camera, focus on different subjects, and moving the camera to get the perfect shot. It was posted Monday afternoon on the 8-Bit Bastard YouTube channel. After Rockstar Editor loads the selected clip, here are options for manipulating the camera, adding depth of field, effects, audio, and speed. This video, the first ever to be made with the tool, gives us a good idea. This changes the game in terms of what player-created video content for Grand Theft Auto V will look like after Tuesday’s release of the PC version of the game. In other words, the Rockstar Editor is not merely a footage capture system. The Rockstar Editor features the ability to select characters from the game and use them like actors to set up scenes, to control the environment (like time of day and weather), and to select background music for the video. You could argue the PC version needed its own video editing suite to keep up with the console versions. The Rockstar Editor, revealed today in a new trailer for the PC version of GTA V, features video capture and editing tools that look very similar to the native tools offered for footage capture and editing on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A first look at the GTA V video editor confirms our suspicions. Friday we reported a video editor included in Grand Theft Auto V’s PC version could help explain the game’s 65 gigabyte download size.
